Instructions
Kohlrabi is a root vegetable that has a peppery and sweet taste. It is delicious in salads too. Take a couple of bulbs and peel them. Cut them into fry shapes or matchsticks which are similar in shape. This is so that they cook evenly.

Meanwhile in a large bowl take the kohlrabi fries. Season with salt, pepper, red chili powder or paprika and garlic powder. Also add 1 tbsp. olive oil. Toss well so that each fry is coated.
You can use any premade spice mix as well if you like.

Preheat air fryer at 200C or 400F for 4 minutes. Place seasoned fries in air fryer basket in a single layer.

Air fry at 200C or 400F for about 12-14 minutes till they are crispy on the edges and well cooked inside.
Keep shaking the basket once every 4-5 minutes for even cooking. Watch after 10 minutes to ensure that they are not getting scorched. The time may vary by a couple of minutes depending upon how thick your kohlrabi fries are and the type of your air fryer.
The fries will shrink slightly after cooking.

Your hot and crispy air fried kohlrabi fries are ready to serve. Enjoy with your favourite dip or as a side dish.
Expert Tips
1. Do cut the kohlrabi into uniform fries so that they cook evenly.
2. Do not overcrowd air fryer basket so that the fries get time to cook evenly.
3. You can use any seasoning that you like even seasoning premixes work well.
4. Use fresh kohlrabi, older ones are fibrous and do not taste that good.
5. In case you don't have an air fryer, you can bake them in a preheated oven at 425F or 220C for 30 minutes. Flip them midway.
6. You can store leftovers in the refrigerator for upto 3 days in an airtight container. They will get limp so you will need to reheat them in air fryer till hot and crispy again.
7. You can combine other veggies like parsnips, turnips or carrots and make fries together. Perfect as a root veggie fiesta.
