These air fryer parsnips are surprisingly delicious. Roasted with slightly brown edges, they get slightly sweet and really tasty. Perfect low carb recipe. Great veggie side.

When it comes to air fryer, roasted veggies are an absolute winner.

They make for a great low carb side or snack.

These air fryer parsnip fries are unexpectedly good. So quick and easy to make, I had a plateful. They were so addictive, and in a good way.

You may also like: roasted pumpkin in air fryer, roasted zucchini in air fryer, air fryer eggplant fries, air fryer butternut squash, cheesy broccoli bites, crunchy oyster mushroom and crispy okra.

Tips for Making Delicious Air fryer Parsnips

    1. Choose fresh parsnips. Their flavour really shines through.

    2. Wash them well. I prefer to peel them and cut them into fries or you can cut into thicker pieces.

    3. A bit of honey or maple syrup really makes them deliciously sweet. But you can skip it if you prefer to avoid any sugar.

    4. Brushing with olive oil helps them get a nice slight crunch to them.

    5. Do not add the spices and keep parsnips for long before air frying. Because they will release a lot of water and will get limp when air frying. Add the seasonings with oil and honey/maple syrup just before putting them in the air fryer.

    6. Do not overcook. They are done when the edges are slightly brown. Have them hot off the air fryer.

    7. Just salt and pepper work well. But feel free to try different spices or rubs as per taste.

    1. Wash, peel and cut parsnips into fries.

You can also do larger slices like cutting each parnip into eights.

    2. Dry them and keep aside.

Assemble ¾ tsp. pepper, ¾ tsp. pink salt or regular salt, 2 tsp. honey or maple syrup, 2 tsp. olive oil.

    3. Preheat air fryer at 180C or 360F for 4 minutes.

In a bowl, toss parsnip fries with salt, pepper, olive oil and honey/maple syrup.

    4. Air fry at 180C or 360F for 12-15 minutes till the fries are roasted and have browned edges.

    6. Serve hot as it is like a snack or a vegetable side to your meal.

These do not need a dip but if your really must you can serve them with a sweet chili sauce or a Chipotle mayo.

    7. Enjoy your parsnip fries. I take 2 batches to make 1 lb. or about 500 gm. parnip fries.

The second batch is slightly faster.

    8. Do keep an eye on the air frying time as each air fryer model is different.
