These air fryer scrambled eggs are keto and low carb, an easy way to make your favorite breakfast. So delicious and evenly cooked. I just love them.

Eggs are my favourite to cook in the air fryer. Who would have thought? 🙂

After a few trials and errors, I get perfect boiled eggs in air fryer and poached eggs too in air fryer.

If you enjoy, you can try air fryer omelette, air fryer frittata, air fryer egg bites and eggs in a basket. I really have you covered here.

Of course, scrambled eggs was super easy recipe to try that I got right in the first instant. I have used a round silicone cake mould here.

But non-stick cake pans, aluminium or steel cake pans safe for use in oven work just as well.

You can easily double this recipe or if your air fryer is big enough, even make 6 eggs at one go.

You will have to adjust the cooking time for the larger batch but otherwise there won’t be much of a hassle.

    Ingredients

Eggs: I have used room temperature large eggs here.

If you use them from the fridge, it may take a minute more of air frying time.

Seasoning: I have used only salt and pepper to flavour my scrambled eggs.

Butter: Butter is so tasty in scrambled eggs. If you don’t eat dairy, you can use vegan butter or even olive oil.

    Variations

This recipe of keto scrambled eggs in air fryer is super versatile.

Non Dairy: You can use vegan butter in place of butter in the recipe in case you don’t have dairy.

Cheesy: Add a couple of tbsp. of grated cheese like cheddar or parmesan in your eggs while whisking them.

Adding 2 tbsp. or milk or cream to your eggs makes them fluffy and delightful.

Spicy: If like me you love your spice, you can add some finely chopped chilli or chilli flakes to the eggs.

You could also add a splash of hot sauce to your eggs while whisking them.

Veggie: I often love adding finely chopped peppers, mushrooms and onions to make my scrambled eggs more substantial.

Herby: For a lovely touch of green and added flavour, you can use chopped herbs like parsley, cilantro or basil to your eggy mixture.

Meaty: If you like bacon or sausages, feel free to add cooked bacon or sausage crumbled to your scrambled eggs.

    FAQs

    1. How many eggs can you cook in an air fryer at once?

You can cook 2-4 eggs easily in the air fryer at one go. It will also depend upon the size of your air fryer and its container.

    2. Can I skip butter or oil while making air fryer scrambled eggs?

Yes, you can skip oil or butter completely especially if you using a non-stick cake pan. You can use a little oil or butter for taste, if you like.

    3. What should the texture of air fryer scrambled eggs be like?

The texture of air fryer scrambled eggs is light, soft and fluffy.

    Tips

These eggs cook better at a lower temperature. I have cooked them at 300F or 150C. I did not preheat the air fryer.

Since every air fryer is different, your cooking time may vary by a little bit. So the first time you are making them, cook every minute or 2 after the first 4-5 minutes of air frying time.

I have doubled and made this recipe, and it takes about 4 minutes more with 4 eggs. So do your trial and error for larger batches.

You can store your scrambled eggs in a fridge for upto a day in an airtight container. Heat it through thoroughly before eating.

It is very important to mix and scrape the bottom of your pan for making scrambled eggs else they will set into an omelette.

The time taken for heating the butter is like a mini preheating time.

Any add-ons that you add must be added when you are whisking the eggs.

    Instructions

Place your silicone cake mould or metal pan in the air fryer basket. I have used a 6” pan here.

    Add 1 tsp. of butter.

A tsp. of butter in a silicone mould

Set the air fryer at 300F or 150C and air fry for 2 minutes.

    Your butter would melt.

Melted butter in silicone mould in air fryer basket.

Meanwhile, break two eggs in a bowl.

Add salt and pepper to taste and whisk well till nicely incorporated.

If you are using milk, cream or cheese, or veggies or meat, you can add it here along with the egg mixture.

Whisked egg mixture in a glass bowl.

After the butter melts, add the whipped egg mixture to the silicone mould or metal mould.

Whisked egg mixture slightly cooked in a mould in air fryer basket.

Air fry at 300F or 150C for about 2 minutes. Open the air fryer basket. Your scrambled eggs will start cooking.

Using a spatula, mix the egg mixture well and scrape the bottom.

Repeat this process once every 3 minutes.

Scrambled eggs half cooked in air fryer basket.

It took me 9 minutes in all at 300F or 150C including the butter melting time for the eggs to be cooked soft.

If you want them fully set, maybe do a minute more.

Please check for your model of air fryer and adjust the cooking time.

Soft cooked scrambled eggs in silicone mould

If you double the recipe, for 4 eggs, you may need about 14-15 minutes of air frying time in all at 300F or 150C.

Take out your delicious scrambled eggs, garnish it any way your like and serve with the accompaniments of choice.

    Enjoy your tasty breakfast.

I have not cooked eggs in my air fryer and this was so good. My son is going to college soon and I was thinking of getting him a small air fryer for frozen snacks. Now this will be one more recipe I will add to his list.

Never tried making eggs in the air fryer, but this was easy! I loved the texture, too - I prefer my scrambled eggs to have a stronger texture.
