These pancakes in air fryer are a quick and easy breakfast to make. My son can make these himself and absolutely loves how good they come out.
Pancakes are a Sunday breakfast favourite especially of my teen’s. He loves these pumpkin pancakes that we make regularly during fall or these savory potato pancakes.
Since I saw the viral tiktok trend, I wanted to try out pancakes in the air fryer. A few tries, and I managed to get them perfect.
This one I made from Betty Crocker mix. You can just as easily make pancakes from any other mix or from scratch.
I really like how light these buttermilk pancakes are and very lightly sweetened too. That way, we can adjust how much syrup or honey we use on top along with the fruits.
Once you have preheated the air fryer and made one batch of pancakes, the subsequent ones are a little bit faster.
I could make two pancakes at one go in 6 minutes. Not bad at all.
Your kids will love these cute bear cupcakes, strawberry crunch cupcakes and mango muffins. They look and taste amazing.

Ingredients
Pancake Mix: I used Betty Crocker’s Buttermilk Pancake mix for this recipe. Feel free to use any pancake mix you like.
You can make them from scratch or use any other mix.
Oil for greasing the moulds
Water: This pancake mix just needed to be mixed with water before using.
Toppings: I have used maple syrup and cut fruits here. You can easily use nuts and dried fruits of choice.
Variations
Try Pancake mix of your choice and use.
You can also vary the toppings as per your wish. Just mix and match. This is a super easy versatile recipe.
Serving Suggestions
1. Maple syrup and butter: Try this traditional way of serving pancakes with a drizzle of maple syrup?honey along with melted vegan butter/butter.
2. Fruits: Use seasonal fresh fruits along with maple syrup. You could top with sweetened yogurt or cream.
3. Savory: My older boy loves topping his pancake with some cheese, sausages and bacon. He quite loves it savory.
4. Chocolate chip and chocolate syrup: This is a favourite of all kids. This is a chocolate overload with chocolate chips and a drizzle of chocolate syrup.
Tips
1. Preheating the air fryer basket helps in cooking the pancakes as soon as they get in.
2. I have used parchment paper to line the bottom of the stainless steel pans that I used here. That helps prevent sticking of the pancakes to the bottom.
3. You can use disposable aluminium round containers for this or aluminium moulds. Silicone, glass or ceramic do not work well here.
4. My stainless steel moulds were about 3.5” in diameter at the base. I used ¼ cup of pancake batter per pancake.
5. I could fit two moulds at one go. So two pancakes were done in 6 minutes for the first batch. For the second batch, it took 5 minutes for 2 pancakes.
6. The tops of pancakes get lightly browned after air frying. Just use a spatula to pull them out.
7. You can use a larger mold to make one large pancake instead of two smaller ones.
Be careful when lifting out the moulds, as they will be hot. Use oven mitts or a towel. Wait for them to cool down a bit before handling them.
8. I tried the viral tiktok method of using parchment paper and then laying pancake mix on top.
It did not work for me. The shape was awry and the pancake did not cook evenly.
Instructions
Mix pancake batter as per the instructions on the pack.
I just mixed batter with water and mixed as was instructed on the pack.
Preheat air fryer at 180C or 360F for 5 minutes.
Grease your aluminium foil moulds. I used metal moulds of 3.5” diameter and cut parchment paper to size and line them.
Take ¼ cup pancake batter and add to each mould.
I could fit two moulds at one go in my air fryer basket.
Place them in air fryer basket and shut the basket.
Air fry at 360F or 180C for 6 minutes.
The time may vary slightly in case your moulds are of a different size and depending upon the model of your air fryer.
Start checking after 4 minutes. The tops get browned.
You may see pancakes fluffing up and also developing cracks. It’s all good.
Take them out carefully. Using a spatula, gently slide out the pancakes.
Stack them up. Use your favourite toppings.
I used maple syrup and cut fruits. Enjoy them warm.
Your delicious air fryer pancakes are ready to eat.
