Air fryer cauliflower steaks are delicious and go really well as a vegan side or main. Just pair it with a salad or a protein for a delicious low carb meal.

Cauliflower is my favourite vegetable, and I cook it regularly. You may like this Buffalo cauliflower wings recipe in air fryer.

These cauliflower steaks get nice and crispy outside and are soft cooked inside. My husband enjoys them with his drinks.

How to make Perfect Air fryer Cauliflower Steaks

    1. Choose a fresh cauliflower. Remove the leaves and leave the stalk on. Cut into ¾" steaks. Depending upon the size of your cauliflower you will get 2-4 steaks. If there are any leftover florets, I marinate them and cook them too.
    2. Brush each steak with harissa sauce along with some salt (if needed) to cover every part of the steak. Drizzle some oil on both sides.
    3. I have used harissa sauce in this recipe. It is deliciously spicy. You can easily use Sriracha or Peri peri sauce or rubs like Cajun, fajita seasoning or anything else that you like. Even the basic garlic powder, lemon juice and pepper work really well.
    4. Cook the steaks in the air fryer till you get crispy edges. Serve hot with a salad and/or protein on the side. It is delicious.

    Variations

This recipe is already vegan, vegetarian and gluten free.

Do check the harissa sauce you use to see that it has gluten-free ingredients.

Remove outer leaves of the cauliflower. Keep the stalk. Now cut it across in such a way that you get about ¾” thick steaks.

Brush each steak harissa sauce and some salt (if needed) to cover every part of the steak. Drizzle some oil on both sides.

Since harissa sauce is very spicy, a little goes a long way.

I have used store-bought harissa sauce here. You can use paste as well.

    Air frying Instructions

Place marinated cauliflower steaks in the air fryer basket and air fry for about 16 minutes at 180C or 360F.

Two cauliflower steaks in air fryer basket ready for air frying.

You can flip the steaks midway.

Depending upon the thickness of your steaks, you may need more time to air fry.

Once they are crunchy outside and cooked through, take them out and serve hot with with some salad on the side.
