Air fryer Chicken Parmesan is your favourite chicken recipe that turns out spectacular in the air fryer. We love making this at home for dinner.
The thin chicken cutlets are perfectly cooked and succulent with a crunchy parmesan coating.
Perfectly topped with marinara sauce and melting cheese.
It’s a lavish meal loved by the family. Most times, I just serve this with some air fried vegetables.
You can of course serve it with your favourite pasta for more substantial carbs.
This is a favourite recipe of mine and works very well with pre prep.
I prep the breadcrumbs and make the marinara sauce and keep.
Cutting each chicken breast in 2-3 fillets and ponding them a bit, I store these too in the fridge.
After that it is dinner on the table in under 15 minutes and requires no work. Really a breeze.
You can also just have air fried breaded sliced chicken breast just as is for dinner too. In case, you don’t have marinara sauce at hand.
Trust me you will delight your friends.

Ingredients
1. Sliced Chicken Breast: I take boneless skinless chicken breast, the healthiest kind.
Depending upon the thickness of the breast, you can slice them into 2 or 3 fillets.
To have uniform size, you can lightly pound them with a mallet. I used mortar as I did not have a mallet.
2. Breadcrumbs: Use Italian breadcrumbs.
I used regular breadcrumbs and seasoned them with salt, cayenne and Italian seasoning.
3. Parmesan cheese: Use some for the breading and the remaining to top up with your Chicken Parmesan.
4. Marinara sauce: You can use store bought marinara sauce. That is convenient.
I sometimes make a large batch from scratch and keep in the fridge.
I make them with canned tomatoes, oregano, olive oil, salt and chilli flakes. So delicious and tasty.
Variations
1. Dairy free: You can skip cheese or use a vegan variety of cheese in the recipe.
2. Low carb recipe: You can skip breadcrumbs and use pork rind in its place for the breading.
Storage
You can store leftovers in the fridge. Reheat them at 360F or 180C for 2-3 minutes till hot.
I have not frozen them so I can’t say if these work as frozen.
Tips
Slice chicken breast into thin fillets of equal size.
That way they cook uniformly. You can also pound them a bit to make them thin.
You can use Panko in place of regular breadcrumbs for more crunch.
Using cheese in the breading helps it taste very close to the deep fried version.
Use meat thermometer to ensure that the chicken is cooked perfectly.
Chicken must be at 165F or more for it to be cooked through.
Marinara sauce can be homemade or store bought.
Do not overload the air fryer while cooking. Keep adequate space between each breaded fillet.
Flip the breaded fillet as mentioned during cook time. This ensures even cooking and crunch.

So delicious! I think the Italian breadcrumbs make all the difference. It's nice to know you can make your own (with spices) if you only have regular. Great recipe!
