These Air fryer or baked buffalo wings are crispy chicken wings that are tossed in a hot sauce and served with vegetable batons and a ranch sauce.
Generally I am not a fan of chicken wings. I feel that they do not have too much meat. But they are just perfect as appetizers.
Crispy, sticky and hot is how I like my Buffalo chicken wings. The kids and I actually fight over the pieces.
This recipe is super easy to make at home. Air frying or baking helps you cut down the Calories from deep frying.
I also use lesser butter in the sauce as compared to what they do in the restaurants again to make it relatively lighter.
This Buffalo chicken wings recipe is really simple and versatile. Here’s how to make them:
Buffalo Chicken Wings Air fryer and Baked
Equipment
Ingredients
- 1 lb. chicken wings or 500 gm.
- ½ tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. pepper
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- ½ tsp. garlic powder
- 3 tbsp. Buffalo sauce or any hot sauce
- 2 tsp. butter or coconut oil
- 1 tsp. honey
Instructions
- Wash and pat dry your chicken wings. Toss with salt, pepper, garlic powder and baking powder to coat well.
For Air frying
- Pre-heat the Air fryer at 390 C or 200 C for about 5 minutes. Arrange the wings on the basket in one layer. Air fry for about 20 minutes. You will see chicken fat draining down and the skin crisps up well and good. I take out one wing and check it for crispness and doneness. Air fry for 5 minutes more if needed.
For Baking
- Preheat the oven to 400 F for 6 minutes. Arrange the wings on the rack in one layer. Bake for 45 minutes. You will see chicken fat draining down and the skin crisps up well and good. I take out one wing and check it for crispness and doneness.
Crispy Wings in Buffalo sauce
- Take out the wings. Prepare the dipping sauce by combining Buffalo sauce, butter or coconut oil and honey. Throw in the wings and mix well to coat. Serve immediately with chopped celery and carrot sticks and some ranch dressing. Just like the restaurant and super tasty.
Notes
2. You can use any hot sauce instead of Buffalo sauce like Sriracha sauce or hot momo sauce.
3. You can add more butter or coconut oil but 1 tbsp. works fine by me.
4. Do Air fry or bake for more time if the wings don’t look very crisp.
5. Chipotle Dip is a favourite along with ranch with wings for me.
