Tips to Make the Perfect Fried Oreos
1. Have them hot off the air fryer. With a perfect flaky pastry that mimics deep fried and a melty Oreo inside, it tastes absolutely delicious.
2. These can not be reheated or the pastry may get too browned.
3. If you are using frozen pastry sheet, make sure to bring it to almost room temperature before using else it will not be stretchy enough to cover the Oreo properly.
4. Cover the Oreo with the pastry evenly.
5. You can roll out the pastry sheet a bit with the rolling pin. I, however, just stretch it with my fingers.
6. You can make the pastry sheet at home too.
7. Flip the Oreos midway during air frying for even cooking.
8. I sometimes use parchment paper to prevent the Oreos from sticking to the mesh basket.
Stepwise Pictures
1. Cut open a pack of Oreos. I generally make 6 in a batch.
2. Take your pastry sheet. If using frozen bring it to room temperature. Cut it into squares slightly larger than you Oreo.
3. Place each Oreo on the square and lift the corners of the pastry sheet and neatly fold all around the Oreo till you get a neat packet.
Do it for each Oreo and keep aside.
Preheat the air fryer at 180 C or 360 F for 5 minutes. Lay the prepared oreos in one layer leaving space between each.
Brush your basket well with oil or use a parchment paper to line the basket before placing the Oreos.
Air fry at 360 F or 180 C for 5 minutes. Flip midway if using parchment paper.
Your pastry would turn a lovely golden brown and look puffed and flaky. Inside the Oreos melt slightly.
Take out the oreos and enjoy your sweet treat. It is truly delicious. Super easy to make too.
