Air fryer frozen crinkle fries are a delicious and quick snack that is super easy to make. These have lovely crispy edges and nicely cooked centres. Their shapes are super appealing.

Fries are a favourite in my home. I make air fryer French fries from scratch and frozen regularly.

These air fryer crinkle fries are a new addition. My teen especially loves them.

They are so tasty. You can vary the seasoning mix as per your like and make them taste whatever you are in the mood for.

I love how the crinkly fries are more browned on the edges and softer in the curvy sides. This gives a great contrast of texture in the mouth.

I can cook a 1 lb. bag or about 450 gm. In one batch.

    Ingredients

1 bag of frozen crinkle cut fries. I have used McCain fries here. Feel free to use any from the freezer section of your grocery.

Unless they are super thick cut or a larger batch, these instructions should work for you.

Snack: These crinkle cut fries in air fryer are a perfect snack. Serve with a dip of choice for a perfect snack.

Movie night: I serve these with popcorn for a great movie night accompaniment.

Meal: Serve these with a burger and a drink for a light meal. They also go well with grilled fish, tofu, chicken or shrimp and a salad.

Bowl: These fries go very well in a bowl for a crunchy accompaniment.

    Variations

These fries are vegan and you can mix them with various seasonings as per what your like.

If you like cheese, you can sprinkle cheese in the final two minutes of air frying time.

    Seasoning Mixes

These seasoning mixes go well when tossed with the fries. Most frozen crinkle cut fries do not come pre seasoned.

    Salt and pepper

    Peri Peri seasoning

    Chaat Masala

    Fajita seasoning

    Tips

Do not thaw the fries. They turn out much crisper when air fried from frozen.

Your air frying time will be the same unless you use very thick cut fries. If you are cooking a larger batch, do it in two batches.

Avoid much overlapping of the fries in the air fryer basket, or they will cook unevenly.

There is no need to brush or spray them with oil as they already have a lot of oil in them.

Do not let the fries overlap in the air fryer basket or they will not cook evenly.

    Instructions

Cut open a packet of frozen crinkle cut fries. You do not need to thaw these at all.

Preheat air fryer at 180C or 360F for 5 minutes.

You can lightly grease your air fryer basket. Mine does not require it since these frozen fries already have enough oil in them.

The same reason why I don’t spray any oil on them.

Air fry at 360F or 180C for about 10-12 minutes till they are nice and browned.

For added browning, air fry for a couple of minutes at 390F or 200C.

This makes them browner in appearance.

You will need to shake the basket every 4 minutes so that all the fries cook evenly.

Once, they are crispy on the outside and cooked inside, take them out and serve hot after tossing in the seasoning of your choice.

Just salt, pepper, chilli flakes and garlic powder taste great.

Or you can try any of the seasoning mix suggestions given in the post.

    Serve them hot.
