Making crispy crowns in air fryer is a great way to make your favourite tater tots.

I love making these Ore Ida crispy crowns in air fryer for a perfect snack or appetiser.

Tater tots are a favourite in my home. They turn out great in the air fryer both from scratch and frozen tater tots.

Potatoes turn out fabulous in air fryer. From French fries to hash browns, breakfast potatoes, smashed potatoes, baby potatoes to French fries, frozen French fries, potato chips .

You just can’t have enough of them.

I love these potatoes and carrots in air fryer and these air fryer potatoes and onions too.

    What are Crispy Crowns?

Crispy Crowns are a flatter version of tater tots shaped like a crown.

They are made by grating potatoes and seasoning them with your favourite spices.

These are then shaped like crowns and cooked.

My favourite Ore Ida Crispy Crowns are frozen crispy crowns that are ready to cook.

    Ingredients

Crispy crowns: I have used a packet of Ore Ida crispy crowns.

You can find them in the frozen section of your grocery store.

You can use any other brand of crispy crowns as well.

There is no need for any added oil or seasonings here. But if you need extra seasonings, you can add them.

    Variations

This is a vegan recipe. You can use them as a base for a number of different ways to serve them.

    Serving suggestions

Cheesy: Top with some cheese in the last couple of minutes of air frying time for a crispy cheesy crust to your crispy crowns.

Loaded crispy crowns: Top with your favourite toppings like sour cream, bacon bits, chopped green onions.

Spicy: Toss with peri peri seasoning, BBQ seasoning or any other seasoning of choice for a spicy treat.

Breakfast: Serve them as a side with sausages, eggs and mushrooms.

Side: They are a fantastic potato side that goes well with your protein and salad.

Snack: Toss with some melted butter and seasoning of choice for a tasty snack.

How to Reheat Crispy Crowns in Air fryer?

Store prepared crispy crowns in an air tight container after air frying.

These leftovers can be stored for up to 2 days.

To reheat air fry at 200C or 390F for about 3-4 minutes till heated through and crispy.

    Serve them immediately.

Do not refreeze crispy crowns done in the air fryer that used frozen crispy crowns.

    Tips

    1. Do not thaw tater crowns before air frying. This ensures that they turn out crispy.

    2. Do not overcrowd your air fryer. Arrange them in one layer.

    3. You can store air fried crispy crowns in the fridge in an airtight container for upto 2 days.

    4. There is no need to flip them while air frying.

    5. I prefer to preheat the air fryer while cooking them. If you have no time to preheat, you can cook them right away.

Your cooking time will increase by a few minutes.

    6. You can also do them in the oven.

    7. You can do one bag of 8 or 9 oz. at one go in the air fryer.

    Instructions

Take out the packet of Ore Ida Crispy Crowns from your freezer. There is no need to thaw them.

As a matter of fact, they turn out crispier and better if not thawed first.

Preheat air fryer at 400F or 200C for 5 minutes.

Cut the packet and lay crispy crowns in one row in the air fryer basket.
