Edamame beans in air fryer are my new favourite snack. They need barely any seasoning and come out nice and well cooked. I love their taste. Super healthy too.

Edamame beans are the younger, immature form of soy beans. They taste milder with a slight kick.

I actually steam them and use in salads and even curries. They taste creamy.

This time I tried air frying them and loved how good they are. I air fried the beans with the pods. Though the pods I discard.

You can store them in an air tight container and consume within a week.

    Health Benefits of Edamame

Edamame is high protein, low carb, gluten free plant-based food. It also has vitamins and minerals.

Hence it is very nutritious and healthy while being low calorie.

Some people get gassy with these beans. But, I have not faced that issue at all. Don’t have massive quantities at a go if you are having them for the first time.

    Edamame

    Olive oil

    Salt

    Pepper

This is one of those recipes where simple works best. You could add other spices and seasonings if you are so inclined.

Tips to Make the Best Air fryer Roasted Edamame

    1. Choose fresh green edamame in pods, shelled or even frozen for this recipe.
    2. Just a light coating of oil with salt, garlic powder and pepper works fine. But you can use other seasonings like Italian seasoning, chilli flakes, Old Bay seasoning, cajun spice etc.
    3. Discard the pods and eat the beans after air frying. They are a delicious snack.
    4. You can also make this recipe oil free by skipping oil and using lemon juice to help your spices adhere to edamame.
    5. You should be able to find edamame in your grocery stores, especially in the frozen section.’
    6. If using frozen edamame, immerse in some water to thaw and then use.
    7. You can store this snack in air-tight container for up to 2 days. Air fry again to heat and crisp them up before eating.

Air fry for about 8-9 minutes at 200C or 390F till the pods get well cooked.

Since I like them crispy I air fry for 5 minutes more at 200C or 390F.

Take them out and eat them right away. I discard the pods and eat the beans inside.
