Onion rings are a perfect snack or appetizer that can be enjoyed on their own or with a meal. They go so well with burgers.

But, if like me you are stuck with cold onion rings, there is no need to discard them. You can store them in an air tight container for later use.

However, leftover onion rings can be slightly tricky to reheat. Some methods can leave them soggy or overcooked. There are a couple that can reheat them to crispiness again.

One of the best ways to reheat onion rings is in an air fryer, which can bring them back to their original crispy texture.

If you don't have an air fryer, there are other ways to reheat onion rings.

One option is to use an oven, which can also produce crispy results.

Another option is to use a skillet, which can be a quick and easy way to reheat onion rings.

Each method has its own pros and cons, and the best one for you will depend on your personal preference and the equipment you have available.

You can try these frozen onion rings in air fryer. You can make them from scratch and try out these air fryer onion rings.

Reheat Onion Rings in Air Fryer

Reheating onion rings in an air fryer is a quick and easy way to get them crispy and delicious again. Here are the steps to follow:

Preheat the air fryer to 360°F or 180C for 4-5 minutes.

Place onion rings in the air fryer basket in one layer so that there is no overlap.

Cook for 2-3 minutes or until the onion rings are heated through and crispy.

Remove from the air fryer and serve immediately.

One of the benefits of using an air fryer to reheat onion rings is that you may not need any extra oil to reheat.

Another advantage of using an air fryer is that it's a much faster method than using an oven or skillet. You can have crispy, hot onion rings in just a few minutes.

Note that the exact cooking time may vary depending on the size of the onion rings (thickness of breading) and the type of air fryer you have.

    Reheating Onion Rings in Oven

Using an oven to reheat onion rings is a good option that makes the onion rings crispy again.

Preheat oven to 350F or 175C.

In a baking tray lined with parchment paper, spread out cold onion rings in one layer without any overlap.

If your onion rings have enough oil, there is no need to add more oil or you can spray some on top.

Bake for about 10-15 minutes till the rings are heated through.

Take them out and serve immediately.

    Reheating Onion Rings in Skillet

Reheating onion rings in a skillet is another great option if you don't have an air fryer or oven.

Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat.

Add a small amount of oil in the skillet for shallow frying. Heat it to medium heat.

Place the onion rings in the skillet, making sure they don't overlap.

Cook the onion rings for 1 minute on each side, or until they are heated through and crispy.

Remove onion rings from the skillet and place them on a paper towel to absorb any excess oil.

You may need to cook the onion rings in batches, depending on the size of your skillet.

You can also deep fry the onion rings for added crunch. But be careful that they don’t get too browned.

    Reheating Onion Rings in Microwave

When it comes to reheating onion rings, microwave is not a great option. It will not reheat them evenly.

But, if you really must, as you have nothing else to heat your onion rings, then microwave for 30 seconds to 1 minute.

You may end up with soft, soggy onion rings that will slightly harden after some time.

They definitely will not be anything close to the real fried onion rings. So, be warned.

    FAQs

    1. Can I keep onion rings warm in the oven?

Yes, onion rings can be kept warm in the oven by keeping them in a preheated oven at a low temperature of about 200F or 90C.
This temperature will keep them warm and not cook them too much.

    2. Can you eat onion rings the next day?

Yes, you can but they may not taste very good. However, if you reheat them in the oven or air fryer the next day, they will be crispy and taste decent.

Store your leftover onion rings in an air tight container and reheat them the next day to consume.
