These air fryer roasted cherry tomatoes are a winner. Delicious with barely any seasoning, I love having them in my salads, soups, pasta, wraps, sandwiches, on toast or as is.
Tomatoes are delicious. On roasting they turn sweeter. Air frying them is quick and easy.
Then it is so simple to just add them to salads, wraps, soups or as a topping on toast. They provide a burst of freshness.
I have used cherry tomatoes here. But I have done the same with Roma tomatoes too. Both come out great.

Tips for Making Perfect Air fryer Tomatoes
- Use red cherry tomatoes. If using roma tomatoes use ripe ones.
- Wash dry and halve them.
- I seasoned them with salt, pepper, rosemary and olive oil. They are so tasty.
- There is no need to flip them midway.
- Also collect all the juices that drip down and use them to make a sauce
- If using roma tomatoes quarter them while air frying.
- Keep them in one row when cooking them and not piled on each other.
- You can store in the fridge for up to a week. Or freeze them for two months.
This is very useful especially in summer when tomatoes are available in plenty.
Stepwise Pictures
Wash and dry the cherry tomatoes. Cut them in halves. Use quartered Roma tomatoes if you have those.
Take 2 tsp. olive oil along with pepper, rosemary, garlic powder and salt.
Sprinkle on top of the cut tomatoes.
Air fryer Instructions
Preheat air fryer at 200C or 390F for 4 minutes. Preheating just means that you run the air fryer empty at the temperature.
Now place all the tomato halves in the basket.
Air fry at 200C or 390F for about 8-10 minutes till they are cooked and start turning brown on the edges.
The tomatoes shrink a bit in size and skin gets wrinkly.
Take them out and consume as is or with a salad, sautéed vegetables, in a wrap or soup, or as a topping for your toast.
They taste so much like sun dried tomatoes. Just delicious!
You can store the leftovers in the fridge. You can also freeze them for upto 2 months.
Don’t forget to get all the juices that drip down into the basket through holes. In my case no juices dripped down.
