This air fryer teriyaki salmon is one of those meals that looks and tastes like you spent way more time in the kitchen than you actually did. It is quick, flavourful and perfectly flaky.
I love this recipe for busy weeknights. It comes together in under 20 minutes and is perfect with some veggies or salad on the side. If you already have teriyaki sauce in the fridge, then the recipe gets even easier. I have kept it really simple by using very few ingredients.

Ingredients
Salmon: I have used boneless, skinless salmon fillets here. These were frozen and are thawed and patted dry before air frying.
Teriyaki Sauce: You can make homemade but I have used store-bought sauce here.
Cornstarch: This is used to make a teriyaki glaze that adds sheen and taste to the salmon.
Sesame Oil: It is optional. Can be used for more flavour.
Garnish: I have used chopped spring onions for garnish.
Instructions
The recipe is super easy. If using frozen teriyaki salmon fillets thaw them. Then pat them dry so that they don’t have any moisture. In a bowl, mix together teriyaki sauce and cornstarch along with water to form a sauce.
Brush the sauce on salmon fillets and keep aside.
Microwave the remaining sauce-cornstarch slurry in microwave on high for 70 seconds to form a glaze. You can also do the same on a pan.
Preheat Pre heat air fryer at 390F for 5 mins or use air fryer preheat setting. Lay the marinated salmon fillets in the air fryer basket.
Air fry at 390F for 8-10 minutes or until done. You can check with a meat thermometer that the internal temperature reaches 140F or 145F.
Top off with excess sauce to taste and garnish with spring onions.
Serve with steamed rice, stir fried veggies or a fresh salad. You have a tasty meal ready.
Expert Tips
1. You can marinate salmon fillets for 15 minutes in teriyaki sauce. But, I generally cook it right away, and don't really feel a difference in taste.
2. Do not overcook the salmon. Keep an eye towards the end of cooking time. Depending upon the thickness of your fillet, the time may vary slightly.
3. You may flip the fillet midway for even cooking.
4. Avoid overcrowding. Give the fillets some space so hot air circulates well and the fish cooks evenly.
5. Storage: You can store cooked salmon in an airtight container in the fridge for 2-3 days. Heat through before consuming.
