    Butter Garlic Shrimp in Air fryer and Skillet

    This spicy garlic butter shrimp with no breading recipe is buttery and tasty. It is super flavorful and turns out so good in the air fryer with very little butter/oil.

    I love shrimp, and this is a good recipe if you have good shrimp at hand. Air fryer fried shrimp are wonderfully low in Calories too.

    You can have this as it is for dinner or pair it with some tasty coconut rice.

    It is a paleo as well as keto recipe that is high protein and super nutritious.

    You may also like air fryer Cajun shrimp, Air fryer Tempura Shrimp and crispy coconut shrimp in air fryer.

    You can omit the butter and use only olive oil if you like it that way or you are going dairy free.

    This is a very versatile recipe as you can have it as an appetizer by serving it with a dip. You can also pair garlic butter shrimp with rice.

    Step-by-step Pictures

    Peel, devein and wash the shrimp.

    Bowls of shrimp, pepper, minced garlic, lemon juice and salt.

    Add together minced garlic, fresh pepper powder along with salt and lemon juice.

    Rub it on shrimp and keep aside. You can cook it right away or marinate for half an hour.

    For Skillet Cooking

    Heat butter and oil in a skillet on medium heat.

    Add the marinated shrimp and cook on both sides till nice and browned. Don’t overcook the shrimp.

    It takes only about 1- 2 minutes on each side for the shrimp to curl up and turn pink.

    They will get a nice brown colour too.

    Spoon the leftover sauce on the shrimp and serve with lemon slices and chopped spring onion greens.

    You could also serve with a dip.

    For Air Fryer Cooking

    Brush marinated shrimp with 1 tsp. olive oil or butter.

    Preheat the Air fryer at 180 C or 360 F for 5 minutes.

    Lay the shrimp in the Air fryer basket after brushing it with oil.

    For medium shrimp, air fry for 5 minutes and they are done.

    If your shrimp are bigger, they may need a bit more time. Make sure not to overcook.

    This is a super easy and spicy lemon pepper garlic shrimp recipe. These air fried shrimp are healthy and delicious or try the skillet version. These are paleo and keto friendly. Do try.

    Ingredients
     

    • 1 lb. shrimp or 500 g. peeled and deveined
    • 2 tsp. garlic minced
    • 1 tsp. black pepper
    • 2 tbsp. butter for skillet frying
    • 1 tbsp. olive oil for skillet frying
    • 1 tsp. olive oil or butter for air frying
    • Salt to taste
    • 1 lemon

    Garnish

    • spring onion greens and lemon slices

    Instructions

    Notes

    1. Choose good quality, fresh shrimp. You can also use frozen and thawed shrimp for this recipe. I have used medium-sized shrimp.
    2. Remember to take the shrimp off the pan quickly because they will continue to cook even after you take them off the heat. They MUST NOT overcook.
    3. This is a spicy recipe. If you want less heat, reduce the black pepper.
    4. To make this recipe dairy free, just use olive oil in place of butter.
