How to Cook Air fryer Bell Peppers
The recipe is as simple as making thin slices of peppers.
If you can, try to get different coloured peppers.
That way they not only look beautiful but are super healthy too.
Remember to toss them with oil and spices just prior to air frying.
Also do not overload your basket, we want them to bake and get crispy edges, not get soggy.
Ingredients
1. Peppers: I use red, yellow and green peppers. Use whatever is available.
2. Olive oil: Olive oil is wonderful for tossing and helping the spices adhere to the peppers.
But you can do a no-oil version too.
3. Spices and herbs: Use spice and herbs of choice. I love using pepper, garlic powder, Italian seasoning and salt.
You can also use cayenne or paprika.
4. Lemon juice: For an oil-free version, use lemon juice to mix the spices in and then toss the peppers with them.
Variations and Substitutions
This is a dairy free or vegan recipe.
1. Seasoning: Feel free to use any seasoning that you like.
You can also use spice mixes like fajita seasoning, peri peri seasoning etc.
2. Oil: You can go oil free by skipping oil and using lemon juice or vegetable stock in its place.
I have used olive oil but avocado oil or other oils work equally well.
3. You can add finely sliced onions and even mushrooms along with peppers.
Instructions
Cut each pepper and remove the thick veins with seeds.
Now cut each bell pepper into thin slices. You can cut them into squares too.
Keep the pieces of similar size to cook evenly.
Toss the cut peppers with oil and spices.
Mix well. Don’t keep for long after mixing as it will start releasing water.
Air frying instructions
