Cassava also known as tapioca or yuca is a root that is starchy. One can make tasty crispy cassava chips which are also low calorie using Airfryer.
You may also like: sweet potato chips, plantain chips, kale chips, beet chips and yuca fries.
This is a really tasty and healthy 4 pm snack. Serve it with ketchup or a dip or just have it plain with your evening tea.
These air fryer cassava chips will be an instant favourite at your home.

Step-by-step Recipe:
Use a mandolin to cut thin, evenly-sized tapioca slices.
Then soak them in cold water for about 15 minutes. Drain and dry thoroughly.
Mix oil and seasoning in a bowl. Add tapioca slices.
Let each slice be coated.
Air fryer Instructions
Pre-heat Air fryer for 6 minutes at 360 F or 180 C.
Now air fry tapioca slices at 360 F or 180 C for 8 minutes or till cooked.
Remember they crisp up when resting.
Do shake once in the middle during air frying.
Enjoy these tasty crispy guilt free in the evening.
Deep Frying
Heat oil in a wok or pan. You can use any vegetable oil of choice.
Add the slices gently from the side and deep fry for a minute or two till cooked and crispy.
Take out on a paper towel to remove excess oil. Serve yucca chips hot.
Pro-Tips:
- Cut even sized tapioca slices for even cooking results.
- You can use the same recipe for deep frying in oil as well.
- This is a vegan recipe and low calorie.
- You can vary the seasoning as per your like. You can add garlic powder or pepper too.
- You can also bake the fries if you don’t have an Air fryer.
- Keep an eye on the fries from 6 minutes onwards. Don’t let them get too brown or burned.
- Don’t crowd your Air fryer too much. A bit of overlapping of fries while layering is fine.
- The fries will crisp up when rested.
