    Frozen Onion Rings in Air fryer

    Air fryer frozen onion rings are a quick and easy snack that is ready in 15 minutes. They are crispy, delicious, and perfect for any time hunger strikes. 

    These are great for a get together with friends or a quick snack. It is a sure fire crowd-pleaser.

    While I love to make things from scratch, my freezer always has frozen snacks for convenience and ease of having something quick ready at hand.

    To make frozen onion rings in the air fryer, you really don’t need much. Just a packet of frozen onion rings and an oil spray suffices. 

    You can choose any pack from the frozen section of your grocery store. 

    You can also try variations of onion rings that you can try, such as beer-battered onion rings or spicy onion rings. 

    When serving frozen onion rings done in the air fryer, you can try many options for toppings and dipping sauces.

    You may also love these frozen snacks: frozen potato wedges air fryer, frozen crinkle cut fries, frozen veggie tots in air fryer, frozen fries in air fryer, frozen samosas in air fryer,  frozen hash browns, frozen tater tots, frozen spring rolls in air fryer, frozen spring rolls air fryer and frozen pizza rolls.

    Ingredients

    1 bag of frozen onion rings: I used 16 oz. or 450 gm. bag. That’s all that you need

    Olive oil spray: This is optional. You can use this spray on your air fryer basket and on the frozen onion rings. I only spray my air fryer basket not the rings.

    Yes, that's it! The ingredients list is basically nothing much, making this a quick and easy recipe to prepare.

    When selecting your frozen onion rings, be sure to check the packaging for any specific cooking instructions. 

    Some brands may suggest a different cooking time or temperature, so it's always best to follow the instructions provided.

    Variations

    Frozen onion rings are generally vegan but check the pack ingredients to be certain.

    If you like cheese, add some grated cheese on top of onion rings in the last 2 minutes of air frying time to get a cheesy exterior.

    You can also try making your own dipping sauce by mixing mayonnaise, sour cream, and your favorite seasonings.

    They pair especially well with burgers topped with bacon and cheese.

    3. Salads

    Here are some tips to help you make the best frozen onion rings in an air fryer:

    1.Do not overcrowd the air fryer basket. This can lead to uneven cooking and result in soggy onion rings. It's best to cook in batches to ensure even cooking.

    2. You can also flip onion rings mid way during air frying for even cooking.

    3. Do not thaw your frozen onion rings. If they are thawed they get soggy.

    4. Air frying time may vary a bit depending upon your air fryer model as well as how thick the breading on your onion rings are.

    So do keep an eye on them the first time you are air frying them.

    Cut your pack of frozen onion rings and take them out in a bowl. It's time to cook them up to crispy perfection.

    Step 1: Preheat the Air Fryer

    Set the air fryer to 390F or 200C and preheat for 5 minutes.

    Step 2: Prepare the Onion Rings

    Remove the frozen onion rings from the packet and arrange them in a single layer in the air fryer basket. 

    It's important not to overcrowd the basket to ensure even cooking.

    Step 3: Air frying Instructions

    Place the basket in the air fryer and cook the onion rings for 7-10 minutes at 390F or 200C, flipping them halfway through the cooking time. 

    This time may vary depending upon your air fryer model and the size of your frozen rings.

    Keep an eye on them to prevent burning.

    Step 4: Serve

    Once the onion rings are cooked to your desired level of crispiness, take them out from the air fryer and serve them hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
