Roasted nuts make for an incredibly satisfying and wholesome snack. This air fryer roasted walnuts recipe is quick, easy, and results in perfectly toasted, flavorful nuts.

These air fried walnuts are so much healthier than the store-bought, oil-laden versions. With just a fraction of the oil and no unnecessary additives, they are an excellent guilt-free snacking option. Plus, they are vegan and keto-friendly, making them ideal for a wide range of diets.

Once you try this method, you might also enjoy air fryer almonds, air fryer cashews, air fryer peanuts, air fryer masala peanuts, air fryer peas, air fryer chickpeas.

    Ingredients

Walnuts: Half or whole pieces both work well.
Vegetable Oil: Used to coat the nuts for a golden appearance and also to adhere the spices.
Seasonings: Use salt, smoked paprika, and black pepper or adjust to your taste.

    Instructions

Take the walnuts in a bowl. I took 1 cup of walnut halves. Toss them with oil, salt and paprika or cayenne. You can also use pepper (optional). Toss them thoroughly to coat.

Preheat air fryer to 180C  or 360F for 3 minutes. Place seasoned walnuts in a single layer in the air fryer basket.

Initially I had the crisper plate in my Cosori on, but I removed it later as the nuts were slipping through the vents and falling into the outer basket.

Air fry them for 3-6 minutes, shaking the basket every 2 minutes to ensure they roast evenly. Keep a close eye on the walnuts toward the end of the cooking time, after 3 minutes to prevent burning.

Once they are done, remove the walnuts from the air fryer and allow them to cool completely. This step helps them crisp up further.

In order to store them, transfer the cooled walnuts to an airtight container to maintain their crunch and flavor. You can keep them for upto a week at room temperature.

You can have them as a snack or make a trail mix by adding other air fried nuts and seeds.

    Expert Tips

    1. Keep the walnuts in a single layer for even cooking. This prevents uneven cooking.

    2. Air fryers vary in power and also air frying time will depend upon the size of the walnuts so do keep an eye on the walnuts.

    3. You can adjust spices to your preference. For more heat, add cayenne. You can also use any spice mix of choice.

    4. Storage: Store air-fried walnuts in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week. Beyond that, you can store in the fridge.
