These air fryer veggie tots or veggie nuggets are such a tasty and quick snack. I have made them from frozen. My teen was super happy when he had a snack in under 15 minutes.
If you love tater tots, you will enjoy these veggie tots too. So quick and easy to do in the air fryer.
Of course, you can do them from scratch, but sometimes, it is just so convenient to pop a bag from the freezer into the air fryer.
And bam! You have a delightful snack ready in no time.
My son who is at college has an air fryer now. Trust me, he stocks up his freezer and then just looks up my blog for the recipes. 🙂
You can use any brand from the frozen section of your groceries. I have used Mc Cain frozen veggie tots.

What are Veggie Tots?
Veggie tots are made using various vegetable combinations.
Broccoli, cauliflower, carrot, beans, mixed veggies, sweet potatoes and so on. It really depends upon what you are in the mood for. You can make them from scratch too.
I have used McCain Veggie Nuggets here. You may also use Green Giant Broccoli and Cheese Veggie tots here. Any other brand works too.

Or load up your freezer with a variety of flavours especially when you have those hungry teens to feed.
Ingredients
1 pack of veggie tots: I have used frozen McCain veggie tots here.
I don’t need any additional oil here.
Variations
Cauliflower tots, Broccoli tots, Sweet potato tots, Mixed Veggie tots — the possibilities are immense.
Just raid the freezer section of your grocery store.
They are also known as veggie nuggets.
Serving suggestions
Snack: These veggie tots are a perfect snack for hungry tummies. Pair with a dip on the side.
Side: They are great with your favourite protein. Pair them with air fried chicken, breaded fish, crispy tofu or tandoori paneer.
Breakfast: They are a perfect replacement for hash browns or breakfast potatoes. Serve them as a side to your eggs.
Topping: Top your sandwiches, wraps or bowls with this crunchy vegetarian treat.
Soup or Stew: Great in place of breadsticks or croutons for that crunchy delicious element.
Tips
There is no need to thaw the tots. Just place them directly from frozen into air fryer basket.
Do not overcrowd the basket. Ensure the tots are placed in one layer.
Your air frying time may slightly vary depending upon your air fryer model and size
You can store these in the fridge in an air tight container for upto 2 days. Do not refreeze heated tots.
You can serve these with ranch dressing, Spicy mayo or even ketchup.
Instructions
Take one pack of frozen veggie tots.
Preheat air fryer at 180C or 360F for 5 minutes.
Cut the packet and directly place veggie nuggets into your air fryer basket.
Be careful not to touch the basket, as it is hot.
Close air fryer basket and air fry for about 10-12 minutes at 180C or 360F till the tots are golden brown outside and cooked through inside.
Take them out and serve them directly. Check serving suggestions on top of the recipe card.

Bake in a preheated oven at 360F or 180C for 15-18 minutes till golden brown
