This coconut water lemonade is a refreshing summer drink that is really delicious too. Comes together in just 5 minutes.

Made just 3 ingredients, you can make a large batch and let it chill in the fridge.

Great for after a workout or for a get together with friends, It is actually one of my favourite lemonades.

A glass of coconut water lemonade with lemon wedges.

You would like to try lychee lemonade, brown sugar lemonade, and cucumber lemon ginger water as summer thirst quenchers.

These are refreshing to try: kokum juice, Yoghurt Smoothie | Sweet Lassi Recipe, Watermelon mint lemonade recipe, Lemongrass Tea Recipe, Ragi Malt Recipe, and Turmeric Latte.

This easy lemon drop martini is a favorite.

    3. Easy Recipe: This actually is as easy as it gets. No cooking needed and ingredients are easy to come by in your pantry.

    4. Many Possibilities: This recipe is so versatile. Add chopped tender coconut, add chopped berries, change the citrus fruit used, play around with the sweetener, even turn it into a cocktail.

    Ingredients

Coconut Water: I have used water from 2 coconuts or about 3 cups

    1. Add Fruits: Mix in chopped strawberries, raspberries, chopped tender coconut or a tropical fruit like mango for variety.

    2. Sugar of your choice: Anything from Honey, agave syrup, maple syrup, brown sugar to even stevia works if you're watching calories.

    3. Add herbs: A sprig of mint or basil can add an interesting colour and add to the freshness.

    Serving Ideas

Serve chilled: This lemonade tastes best when served chilled. Use a lot of ice cubes.

Garnish Game: Slices or wedges of lemon, lime or orange really make the lemonade look pretty.

Food Pairing: This lemonade works so well whether with BBQ or a brunch.

    Instructions

I have used fresh coconut water. Here I have used coconut water from 2 tender coconuts which was about 3 cups.

You can use canned coconut water. Just make sure it is not sweetened. Coconut water has a bit of sweetness of its own.

In a pitcher or a vessel, combine together lemon juice and sugar. Mix it well till the sugar dissolves.

Lemon juice and sugar being mixed in a shallow bowl.

I add about ½ cup water more to help expedite the dissolving of sugar in water.

Add coconut water to this lemonade and mix well.

To serve add ice cubes to a glass. Add the lemonade.

Garnish with some lemon wedges and serve immediately.

Enjoy the refreshing taste of this coconut water lemonade. It is so tasty.

    Expert Tips

    1. Choose natural unsweetened coconut water. The fresher the better.

If you can catch hold of fresh tender coconuts then it works really well. Otherwise, canned works good.

    2. Adjust the amount of sugar used as per taste. Also coconut water is slightly sweet too so take that into account.

    3. You can make large batches ahead. Just do not add ice cubes and other garnishes.

    4. You can heat the water to help dissolve the sugar faster. But then you will need to cool down the water before you add coconut water.

Hence I prefer to just mix the sugar and water at room temperature.

    FAQs

    1. Can you use bottled lemon juice?

Yes, you can, if you don’t have fresh lemon juice at hand. Fresh juice may have a slight edge over bottled though.

    2. Can I store this coconut water lemonade?

I would suggest that you have it within 2 days. It will lose its fresh taste if you keep any longer.

    3. Can I use this for a cocktail?

Yes, you can. Use vodka or other alcohols of choice for a delicious tropical cocktail.
