Plantain fries are a tasty and healthy snack. A really good substitute for potato fries. Raw banana or plantain are high fibre and taste very close to potato while being less starchy.

These fries are done in under 20 minutes. They need just seasoning and oil. Really easy to make. Great as a vegetable side too.

You may also like air fryer plantain chips, air fryer sweet potato fries, Air Fryer French fries, air fryer eggplant fries. Baked sweet potato done in air fryer is yum too.

Air fry at 390F or 200C for 10 minutes till the fries are golden and slightly crispy outside and cooked inside.

Serve with ketchup or dip of choice. You can also serve them as a side to your mains.

    Expert Tips

    1. Choose unripe plantains or green bananas for this recipe for crispy savory fries.

    2. Cur the fries in similar sizes so that they cook evenly. Also shake the basket once or twice during air frying for even cooking.

    3. Use any seasoning of choice including premixed spice mixes.

    4. You can store the leftovers in the fridge in an airtight container for 2-3 days. Reheat in the air fryer at 200C or 390F for about 3-4 minutes till heated through and serve. Serving Suggestions
