These poached eggs in air fryer using silicone moulds or ramekins are super easy and mess-free to make. They are quick too. I love making these.
Poached eggs are healthy and delicious. Pair them with toast, avocado toast or with air fryer vegetables and breakfast potatoes.
My husband and son love these.
We just add some salt and pepper on them and have. I find it much easier to poach egg in air fryer than boil a pot of water.
I have shared both air fryer poached eggs with silicone molds and ramekin here.
You may also like these boiled eggs in air fryer, air fryer egg bites and air fryer omelette.
Ingredients
1. Eggs: Use regular eggs. The size of eggs will change the time of poaching.
I use medium eggs. Larger eggs need a minute or two more.
2. Hot water: I have a cup of hot water to pour over the egg so that it starts cooking right away and does not dry out the yolk.
I use 3 tbsp. per ramekin or silicone mold.
3. Salt and pepper: Sprinkle salt and pepper after the egg is poached and serve hot.
4. Olive oil: Just a little is needed to spray or brush the bottom of your ramekins
How to serve
1. Poached eggs on their own are delicious and healthy.
Just sprinkle salt and pepper and enjoy.
2. You may also garnish with some finely chopped parsley, chilli flakes and salt.
3. If you like them richer, you can pour Hollandaise sauce and serve on top of toasted muffin and bacon slices just like Eggs Benedict.
4. Serve poached eggs with sautéed vegetables on top of avocado toast.
What to use
1. Ramekins: Any glass or ceramic ramekins or bowls which are 6 oz. in size are perfect to use here.
2. Silicone Molds: These are very convenient. Poached egg slides out conveniently from these.
I use the same molds for making fried eggs.
2. Spatula: I used silicone spatula to gently pry free the egg that may stick to the bottom of the ramekin.
Tips
1. I used eggs at room temperature. If yours are right from the fridge, you may take a minute more.
2. Both silicone moulds and ramekins work very well for this air fryer poached eggs recipe.
3. If you forget to preheat your air fryer, do not worry.
You can just increase the air frying time by a couple of minutes.
4. Large eggs take slightly longer to cook.
I have shared the recipe for medium eggs.
5. These poached eggs are best eaten fresh. They really can’t be stored and reheated.
6. Take them out of the ramekins or molds as soon as you take them out of the air fryer basket.
7. They continue to cook and may get overcooked if left inside hot ramekins for longer.
8. Be cautious when handling the ramekins as they are very hot. Use tongs or towels to handle.
FAQs
Yes, silicone egg poachers work just fine. Just oil them properly and use.
As explained in the recipe, eggs are broken into greased ramekins, boiled water poured on top and then air fried.
For a really soft egg, just 2-3 minutes is enough. For a soft to firm egg, 4-5 minutes is what you require.
Instructions
Heat 1 cup water in microwave for about 2 minutes till it is really hot.
We need about a cup of water depending upon how many eggs you are planning to cook at one go.
Air fryer Poached Eggs Silicone Mold Instructions
Lightly brush or spray silicone molds with oil. I have used these silicone molds.
Place these silicone molds in air fryer basket. I could fit 3 at one go.
Preheat air fryer at 200C or 390F for 5 minutes along with silicone molds.
Take out the basket. The molds are hot so leave them in the air fryer basket. Now break an egg directly in the mold.
Keep hot water ready. Pour 3-4 tbsp. of hot water over the egg. You will see some of it starting to cook the egg white right away.
Repeat for the other molds. Now place the air fryer basket back in the air fryer.
Air fry at 360F or 180C for about 3-4 minutes. Mine were done to perfection at 4 minutes.
Keep an eye on the eggs after 3 minutes air frying time.
The yolk was runny and the white was perfectly done.
If you like your poached eggs to have cooked yolks then cook for a minute or 2 longer.
These are for medium room temperature eggs. For eggs from the fridge, add 30 seconds or 1 minute more.
Same will apply to large eggs.
Take out your poached eggs with a spatula. They come out easily. Top with salt and pepper and enjoy.
Air fryer Poached Eggs Ramekins Instructions
Take ramekins and gently spray them on the bottom with oil.
Place 4 ramekins or as many will fit in your air fryer and preheat air fryer at 390F or 200C for 5 minutes.
Be very careful while handling the ramekins now.
I put in the cracked egg in the ramekin while it is still in the air fryer basket.
Then add 2-3 tbsp. of hot water on top of each cracked egg.
You will see that the white of the egg starts coagulating right away.
Carefully, place the air fryer basket back in.
Air fry at 180C or 360F for 4-5 minutes till the whites are set and the yolks stay runny.
If you like slightly cooked yolks, you can air fry for a minute more.
Again, depending upon your air fryer, your time may vary slightly.
Keep an eye on the air frying time after 4 minutes.
While taking out the ramekin, be very careful as they will be hot.
Handle using gloves. Use spatula to gently dislodge the egg if it feels stuck to the base.
Take it out and plate it. Sprinkle salt and pepper along with some finely chopped parsley. Enjoy.
I could make a batch of 4 poached eggs at one go in my air fryer.

I use the regular ceramic ones that I use in the oven. They should be fine to be used upto 250C or 450F temps.
