    Ingredients

Eggs: I have used 6 eggs at one go when cooking for my family. You can also use less or more eggs depending upon the size of your air fryer and requirement.

Cheese: I love cheese in my frittata. I generally use cheddar or processed cheese.

Vegetables: I have used chopped spinach, scallion or green onion and sliced mushrooms here. Pretty much any vegetables work like boiled corn, cherry or chopped tomatoes, onion, peppers.

Olive oil: I have used this for spraying/brushing.

Cream or milk: Again, this makes the frittata tastier. I generally avoid heavy cream due to the Calories. But feel free to use if you so wish.

Ingredients for frittata in bowls: grated cheese, 6 broken eggs in a bowl, salt and pepper and chopped veggies in different bowls.

    Variations

    1. Dairy free: Use vegan cheese in place of dairy cheese in the recipe. Rest of the ingredients are dairy free.
    2. This recipe is already gluten free.
    3. If you like meat, you can add shredded chicken, cooked sausages, pepperoni or any cooked meat that you like.
    4. Cream or milk makes the frittata tastier but also high Calorie. Add some if you so like.
    5. You can also add olives, sun-dried tomatoes or feta cheese for a Mediterranean touch.

    Serving Suggestions

Serve frittata with toast and sauteed vegetables. It makes for a wholesome breakfast or lunch.

    Tips

    1. Do not preheat the air fryer. It is difficult to handle the cake pan or  parchment paper dish in a hot air fryer basket.

    2. This recipe is for 6 eggs but you can easily halve it or make it for 4 eggs.

    3. If using a cake tin or a silicone cake mould for air fryer, 7” one works fine. Line your cake tin with parchment paper and grease it lightly.

    4. The more eggs you use, the more will be the thickness of the frittata and the more time it will take to cook.

    5. If your frittata browns too much on top, you can cover the top with a foil to prevent this from happening.

    6. This frittata can be stored for 2-3 days in the fridge. Reheat in air fryer before serving.

To check if the frittata is done, insert a knife in the middle. It should come out clean.

    FAQs

    1. Can I reheat frittata in air fryer?

Yes, you can reheat frittata at 180C or 360F for 2-3 minutes till warm and then consume.

    2. Can I freeze frittata made in air fryer?

Yes, you can freeze frittata and store it for upto 3 months in freezer. You can then reheat in air fryer before serving.

    3. What is the difference between omelet and frittata?

In omelet, the eggs are beaten to be combined and generally cooked only at the bottom. In frittata, the eggs are beaten well to incorporate air to make them light and fluffy. They are also cooked on top as well.

    4. Why is my frittata not fluffy?

Beat the eggs well when making your frittata so that the frittata turns out light and fluffy.

I have not preheated the air fryer for this recipe as I find it cumbersome to put in the cake tin or parchment paper dish in a hot air fryer.

Place the frittata mix in a parchment dish or cake tin and then carefully put it inside air fryer basket.

Close the air fryer. Air fry at 360F or 180C for 12 - 17 minutes till the frittata is cooked.

To check if it is cooked, poke with a knife in the centre of the frittata. If your knife comes out clean then the frittata is cooked.

Take it out and using a spatula, carefully slide it out onto a plate. Cut and serve.
