Ingredients

Instructions

  • Wash, peel and slice sweet potatoes into medium-sized slices.
  • Toss them in a bowl with extra virgin olive oil and seasoning. Using your hands toss well to coat each slice evenly.
  • Zero-oil version: Skip the oil and use water, vegetable broth or aquafaba in its place with seasonings and toss.
  • Preheat air fryer at 180C or 360F for 4 minutes. Lay the marinated slices in the air fryer basket.
  • I fit 2 sliced sweet potatoes at one go. Here I have used the purple ones. But you can use orange, white or a mix of all of them for pretty colours.
  • Air fry at 180C or 360F for about 12 minutes. Check for doneness.
  • Shake the basket every 6 minutes.
  • Now if needed, air fry at 180C or 360F for another 8-10 minutes depending upon the thickness of your slices and their doneness.
  • Serve hot. They will be crispy outside and delicious and fluffy inside. Enjoy.

Notes

1. Any quality sweet potato work even those that are not that fresh.
2. Use seasonings of your choice and vary them.
3. Use extra virgin olive oil to toss them. In case you want zero-oil version, skip the oil and use water, aquafaba or veg broth to toss the seasonings in.
4. Cut the slices of equal width so that they cook evenly together.
5. Remember to shake the basket once or twice during the cooking time. This dislodges slices that may stick together and also facilitate even cooking.
6. You can do a batch of upto 500 gm. or 1 lb. at one go.
7. You can do the recipe with cubes as well.
