Air fryer Garlic Mushrooms

These delicious roasted mushrooms are quick and easy to do in air fryer. They are so good with a garlic butter/olive oil brushing. Perfect low calorie appetizer.

Equipment

Ingredients

  • 8 oz. button mushrooms or 200 gm. halve, quarter or slice
  • 2 tsp. melted butter or extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 tsp. garlic minced
  • 1 tsp. pepper
  • ½ tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. lemon juice for garnish
  • 1 tsp. cilantro leaves Finely chopped for garnish

Instructions

  • Clean the mushrooms. Use a damp cloth to wipe off the dirt. Keep aside and cut into quarters or halves.
  • Mix together melted butter/olive oil with garlic, pepper and salt. Generously apply all over the mushrooms.
  • Preheat air fryer at 180C or 360F for 5 minutes.
  • Place the mushrooms in one layer in the air fryer.
  • Air fry for about 8-10 minutes at 180C or 360F till nicely cooked. Garnish with lemon juice and chopped cilantro leaves.
  • Serve hot as a delicious side.

Notes

1. Use fresh mushrooms that are plump and do not have brown spots or look shrivelled and old.
2. The thinner you slice the mushroom, the faster they will cook.
3. Don’t soak them in water while cleaning or they absorb a lot of water.
4. You can use extra virgin olive oil in place of butter if you are vegan.
5. The recipe uses very few ingredients but is really delicious and healthy.
6. These are best served hot. You can reheat in the air fryer for 3 minutes at 360F or microwave them if you are keeping them after air frying.
