1. Never wash portobello mushrooms under running water. They will absorb a lot of water and will be very watery when cooked. I used a damp paper towel to wipe it both sides.
2. You can choose to remove the stalks and only cook the caps. I sometimes trim the stalk and use. Same applies to gills. Some people scrape them out with a spoon. I leave them there and always have.
3. There is no need to marinate the mushrooms. Just brush the marinade on both sides and air fryer right away.
4. After air frying, the mushrooms stay so meaty yet juicy. It’s a delight to eat them.
5. You can vary the marinade as per taste. Use spice rubs or herbs as per choice.
