Air fryer Tomatoes

These delicious air fryer cherry tomatoes taste a lot like sun dried tomatoes with a lovely sweet, salty and sour taste. Perfect on salads, wraps or on toast. Easy recipe.

  • Wash and dry the cherry tomatoes. Cut them in halves. Use quartered Roma tomatoes if you have those.
  • Take 2 tsp. Olive oil along with pepper, garlic powder, rosemary and salt.
  • Sprinkle on top of the cut tomatoes. Mix well.
  • Preheat air fryer at 200C or 390F for 4 minutes. Preheating just means that you run the air fryer empty at the temperature.
  • Now place the seasoned tomato halves in air fryer basket.
  • Air fry at 200C or 390F for about 6-10 minutes till they are cooked and start turning brown on the edges. Cherry tomatoes shrink a bit after air frying and the skin gets wrinkled. Their flavor intensifies.
  • Take them out and consume as is or with a salad, sautéed vegetables, in a wrap or soup, or as a topping for your toast.
  • You can store the leftovers in the fridge. You can also freeze them for upto 2 months.
  • Don’t forget to get all the juices that drip down into the basket through holes. Use that to prepare a delicious sauce.

Notes

Use red cherry tomatoes. Cut them into halves. If using roma tomatoes use ripe ones.
I seasoned them with salt, pepper, rosemary and olive oil. They are so tasty.
There is no need to flip them midway.
Also collect all the juices that drip down and use them to make a sauce
If using roma tomatoes quarter them while air frying.
Keep them in one row when cooking them and not piled on each other.
You can store in the fridge for up to a week. Or freeze them for two months.
