Equipment

Ingredients

  • 14 oz. cocktail sausages or hot dogs or about 400 gms.
  • 8 oz. crescent sheets or puff pastry sheets squares

Instructions

  • Thaw the pastry sheets if kept in the freezer. Cut them into squares. If using crescent rolls cut each one one into.
  • Cut each hot dog or sausage into halves or use cocktail sizes for pigs in the blanket.
  • Wrap each sausage in the puff pastry sheet by placing the sausage at a diagonal on the pastry sheet.
  • Arrange each wrapped dog on the basket. You can fit 6-8 cocktail ones at one go.
  • Now air fry at 390F or 200C for about 6-8 minutes. No need to flip midway. There is no need to preheat the air fryer.
  • If doing in two batches, the second batch can be done in 5-6 minutes (as it is hot now after doing the first batch) while I took 8 minutes for the first batch.
  • Once golden brown they are done. Serve hot with the dip of your choice. I love mustard honey or honey chili dips.

Notes

1. There is no need to preheat the air fryer. If you do, then your air frying time will reduce as mentioned above.
2. You can brush the pastry sheet with egg wash or milk wash for a deeper golden colour but I do it without and it works well.
3. You can use any kind of sausages that you like here. You can cut larger sausages to cocktail sizes.
4. Ensure that your pastry sheets are thawed before using.
5. You can serve with any dip of choice.
6. Since each air fryer is different the air frying time may vary depending upon your model.
