Equipment

Ingredients

  • 3 Corn on the cob

Seasoning mix

  • 2 tsp. melted butter or olive oil
  • ½ tsp. cayenne or paprika or chilli flakes or pepper
  • ½ tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. lemon juice

Instructions

  • Remove the husk, silk and snip off the ends of the corn. Keep aside.
  • Place the corn on the cob in the air fryer basket. You can do 2-3 at one time. If your air fryer basket is small, cut the corn into halves and then air fry.
  • Air fry at 200C or 390F for about 10-12 minutes till the corn gets nicely roasted and juicy.
  • Make a spice mix by adding ½ tsp. salt, ½ tsp. cayenne or paprika or chilli flakes, 1 tsp. lemon juice to 2 tsp. melted butter (or olive oil).
  • Brush this spice mix liberally. on the air fried corn. I avoid adding it before air frying because the butter may burn a bit and so does cayenne.
  • Dig in and enjoy.

Notes

1. Choose fresh corn: They are the tastiest.
2. Brush butter/olive oil with seasonings after air frying to prevent butter and spices from burning during air frying. You can also choose not to use any spices. The corn is super sweet and delicious as is.
3. If your air fryer basket cannot fit whole corn on the cob, cut them into halves and threes to fit more at a time.
4. Use olive oil in place of butter for dairy free recipe.
5. For zero oil healthy version: Skip both butter and olive oil. Just add the seasonings to lemon juice and brush these on the roasted corn. They taste delicious.
6. For an indulgent twist, put some grated cheese on the corn in the last minute or two of air frying for delicious melted cheese on your ready corn.
7. This recipe is vegetarian and a wonderful side.
