Equipment

Ingredients

  • Pancake Mix
  • Water
  • Oil for greasing pans
  • Toppings
  • Maple syrup or honey
  • Cut fruits

Instructions

  • Mix pancake batter as per the instructions on the pack.
  • I just mixed batter with water and mixed as was instructed.
  • Preheat air fryer at 180C or 360F for 5 minutes.
  • Grease your aluminium foil moulds or metal moulds of 3.5” diameter or cut parchment paper to size and line them.
  • Take ¼ cup pancake batter and add to each mold.
  • I could fit two molds at one go.
  • Place them in air fryer basket and shut the basket.
  • Air fry at 360F or 180C for 6 minutes. The time may vary slightly in case your molds are of a different size and depending upon the model of your air fryer.
  • Just check after 4 minutes. The tops get browned. You may see pancakes fluffing up and also developing crack. It’s all good.
  • Take them out carefully. Using a spatula, gently slide out the pancakes.
  • Stack them up. Use your favourite toppings.
  • I used maple syrup and cut fruits. Enjoy them warm.
  • Your delicious air fryer pancakes are ready to eat.

Notes

1. Preheating the air fryer basket helps in cooking the pancakes as soon as they get in.
2. I have used parchment paper to line the bottom of the stainless steel pans that I used here. That helps prevent sticking of the pancakes to the bottom.
3. You can use disposable aluminium round containers for this or aluminium moulds. Silicone, glass or ceramic do not work well here.
4. My stainless steel moulds were about 3.5” in diameter at the base. I used ¼ cup of pancake batter per pancake.
I could fit two moulds at one go. So two pancakes were done in 6 minutes for the first batch. For the second batch, it took 5 minutes for 2 pancakes. If it feels less brown, air fry for a minute more.
5. The tops of pancakes get lightly browned after air frying. Just use a spatula to pull them out.
6. You can use a larger mould to make one large pancake instead of two smaller ones.
Be careful when lifting out the moulds, as they will be hot. Use oven mitts or a towel.
7. I tried the viral tiktok method of using parchment paper and then laying pancake mix on top. It did not work for me. The shape was awry and the pancake did not cook evenly.
