Ingredients

  • 1 lb. shrimp or 500 gm.
  • 1.5 tbsp. Cajun spice
  • 1 tbsp. minced garlic
  • 1.5 tbsp. olive oil
  • ½ tsp. salt optional

Instructions

  • Marinate deveined and cleaned shrimp with olive oil, minced garlic and Cajun spice. Rub this mix all over the shrimp so that each one is well covered.
  • Marinate for 30 minutes to 1 hour in fridge.
  • Pre heat air fryer at 360 F or 180 C for 5 minutes.
  • Lay the marinated shrimp in one layer on the air fryer basket. You could use parchment paper to line the basket for easier clean up.
  • Air fry at 360 F or 180 C for about 5-6 minutes. I don’t look overcooked shrimp so this time works for the medium shrimp that I used.
  • For larger or jumbo shrimp you may need from 8-10 minutes in the air fryer. It will also vary depending upon your air fryer model. So do keep an eye on it.
  • Your succulent and delicious Cajun shrimp are ready to serve. Enjoy this low carb appetizer or main.
  • I often pair them with rice, pasta or noodles for a meal. You can have with salad if you are on a keto or low-carb diet.

Notes

1. I have made the recipe with fresh shrimp. In case you are using frozen shrimp make sure to thaw them completely before using.
2. Vary the quantity of Cajun spice depending upon how much spice you like. This recipe is moderately spicy.
3. You can skip minced garlic but I strongly recommend using it for a wonderful flavor.
4. Always watch towards the end of cooking time to ensure that your shrimp don’t end up being overcooked.
5. The shrimp is nice and juicy after air frying.
6. You can use parchment paper to line your air fryer basket for easier cleanup.
7. Do watch the video for a better understanding.
